Self Hypnosis – Total Success With Self Hypnosis and NLP Review

Posted by shyp_admin on January 22, 2011

While looking for a self hypnosis product that would create a lasting positive impact on my life, the only product which worked for me was Total Success With Self  Hypnosis and NLP.

Self hypnosis has helped me to solve many of the problems in my life.  Having suffered for many years with alcohol, drug and gambling problems I have tried many different forms of hypnosis, self help, positive thinking, prescription drugs etc I knew there had to be a better way.

My name is Philip Johnston, and this is my review of the Total Success With Self Hypnosis and NLP book by Ed Roberts and why it worked for me. I have been hypnotized countless times by many different hypnotherapists, sometimes I even failed to get into a trance state.  It never really felt like I was achieving my goals and after a while I started to regress. This made me feel even worse and I started to hit the bottle even harder making life hell for myself and those around me.  It wasn’t until a good friend gave me a self hypnosis cd that I realised I was on to something.  I found it much easier to go into trance under self hypnosis than in a paid for hypnotherapy session.

This was fantastic I thought, but still didn’t quite do what I needed.  Basically after hiding behind alcohol for so many years I was suffering from a lack of confidence and I knew I was letting down my family and friends.  This lack of self confidence kept nagging at my subconscious mind bringing me down.  I read sooo many self hypnosis books, brought a load of self hypnosis cd’s, mp3’s and dvd’s, but somehow couldn’t seem to break through the barriers that were holding me back.

Why is Ed’s Self Hypnosis book different from the rest?

I knew self hypnosis would be able to help me achieve my goals, I just didn’t know how to go about making it happen.  Eventually i stumbled upon Total Success With Self Hypnosis and NLP by Edward Roberts.  What was different about Ed’s self hypnosis book was not just the friendly informative and direct to the point way it is written, but more how he goes into breaking down the structure of how self hypnosis actually works.  I realised that my main problem had been an inability to get my imagine working – I couldn’t visualise properly under hypnosis or self hypnosis.  Ed’s self hypnosis book walks you through some simple visualisation exercises that get gradually more advanced which I practised for a few weeks and mastered.

Inducing, deepening and de-inducing self hypnosis

Inducing a state of self hypnosis is all about relaxation.  It’s no surprise that without having that explained properly to me in the past I couldn’t easily enter a state of self hypnosis, and when I did actually manage to successfully manage to put myself in a state of self hypnosis, I didn’t give myself the right messages. It is also why when I used to visit a hypnotherapist I felt anxious knowing each session was costing me valuable beer money and not knowing whether I would get anything out of it. So now when I want to go into a state of self hypnosis, I just relax, visualise some of the things I read about in Ed’s self hypnosis book and focused on how relaxed, but energised I feel.  It really is a pleasure now inducing self hypnosis, deepening the feeling and then de-inducing self hypnosis. As you can tell I’m not a wordsmith, so I can’t really explain to you just how good a feeling that is and how much better I feel afterwards. In my life before reading Ed’s self hypnosis book I used to rely on alcohol to block out all my negative feelings, but now my positive thoughts and energy doesn’t let them anywhere near my conscious thought.

Self Hypnosis scripts and recordings – getting the self hypnosis message into your brain!

Having successfully induced self hypnosis and deepened that state of self hypnosis, what should I say to myself and how do I make it stick in my brain? If you have your eyes closed and are breathing deeply and slowly whilst you are in a state of deepened self hypnosis, you can’t then open your eyes and start reading a script out aloud – it would destroy your relaxed state.

My previous experience with other self hypnosis products I had brought was that you listened to a professionally recorder MP3 of the author reading his or her self hypnosis scripts to you. This didn’t work on several levels for my. If i noticed something in their accent or style which I didn’t like, I would focus on this – not on what they were saying.  Ed’s self hypnosis book has copies of self hypnosis scripts for you to read and record yourself.  I find when I listen to my voice reading out self hypnosis scripts and suggestions  that it seems more real.  My sub conscious during self hypnosis seems to accept that it is my conscious brain talking to it.  Then when I come out of self hypnosis and my sub conscious talks to my conscious brain it fells kind of right – like I’ve had a good positive word with myself.

The key to all this self hypnosis sinking in and why I like Ed’s self hypnosis book over anyone else’s is his use of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).  I won’t go into that in too much detail because his book covers it far better than I ever could do.  Suffice it to say that I think that was the breakthrough I needed in order to get the best from self hypnosis.

My life is improving since reading Ed’s self hypnosis book and I hope yours can too.  I no longer have alcohol dependence, I can have a drink and that’s it.  I’ve given up smoking and am proud of myself and I know my friends and family are very happy for me.

In summary, it helped me and should be able to help you so why not go out and buy Total Success With Self Hypnosis and NLP by Ed Roberts.

Self Hypnosis – Does Self Hypnosis Really Work?

Posted by shyp_admin on January 11, 2011

What Can Self Hypnosis Do for You ?

Hypnosis is a focused state of being during which you are relaxed and tranquil, yet open to suggestions. ”Self hypnosis” is when you put yourself in a state of hypnosis, you are not asleep and you are not in danger of performing actions to which you would otherwise object whilst in a state of self hypnosis.  Instead, your conscious mind is calm. The term self hypnosis refers to the same situation, but you have placed yourself into a hypnotized state.

Some promoters of self hypnosis argue that everyone has experienced this state of being and does so every day. The act of daydreaming, for example, can be considered a state of self hypnosis because the conscious brain is allowed to suspend itself and the subconscious is allowed more freedom. Other forms of self hypnosis yourself include watching television or reading. Regardless of how you engage in self hypnosis, it can serve several purposes.

Self Hypnosis Can Improve Your Life

Many people who suffer from anxiety or depression issues can benefit from self hypnosis. The act of placing yourself in a hypnotic trance of self hypnosis allows your blood pressure and adrenaline levels to calm themselves, allowing you to return to a neutral state. Returning to full awareness from a relaxed state of self hypnosis allows your conscious mind to better cope with the stresses in your life. Some people find that after a few sessions of self hypnosis, they are able to calm themselves more quickly and experience fewer anxiety attacks.

Even people who do not suffer from anxiety disorders can find themselves overly anxious about impending dental or medical procedures. Hypnotizing yourself by putting yourself in a state of self hypnosis before and during the procedure allows you to endure the necessary appointment without experiencing debilitating anxiety or fear. If you are able to experience a medical or dental procedure without significant amounts of medication, you do not have to worry about side effects afterward. So self hypnosis becomes a win / win situation.

Most popular among hypnotherapy patients are those who look to self hypnosis as a way to break bad habits. People who wish to stop smoking or who combat overeating find that self hypnosis offers a way to replace behaviors they wish to change with more positive behaviors. Self hypnosis gives these people a way to modify their behavior slowly in a calming manner.

The Benefits Of Self Hypnosis

There are many reasons why people may be interested in learning more about self hypnosis. It may help them control pain, lose weight, stop smoking, overcome phobias and can even help them sleep better at night. It can even help people improve their brain function and memory.

People who have chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, migraines, stomach pain, back pain, or any other type of pain can benefit from learning about self hypnosis. They can learn to relax and be more comfortable in any situation. They can learn different techniques of self hypnosis and NLP to help them reduce or eliminate the pain.

During self hypnosis, a person’s conscious mind becomes left active, however, they remain awake. At this time, the subconscious mind is receptive to suggestions. The subconscious mind does what it is told to do versus the conscious mind that thinks and reasons. Repetition and reinforcement are very important, this has been proved for years via the process of auto-suggestion which has now been refined with self hypnosis and NLP. Therefore making or listening to recordings to be used when in a state of self hypnosis should be done on a regular basis.

In addition to helping people manage pain, self hypnosis can also be done to help people: set new goals and reach them, break bad habits, heal old emotional hurts, improve their sense of well being, and improve relationships with other people. There is not anyone who could not receive positive improvements in some area of their life by learning about self hypnosis.

There have been clinical studies in which self hypnosis has been shown to help people. One study showed that self hypnosis provided powerful anxiety relief for people undergoing outpatient medical procedures at a low cost. Other studies have shown that self hypnosis is an effective way to help people stop smoking and lose weight. Self hypnosis has even been studied as a tool to help chronic drug and alcohol offenders refrain from relapsing.

Improving Your Life with Self Hypnosis and NLP

Most people have not heard of nlp self hypnosis, but may liken it to “Jedi mind tricks” when they learn more about it. This type of hypnotherapy involves using words and sometimes physical cues to prompt changes in attitude or behaviour. Many people are uncomfortable with forms of neurolinguistic programming because they fear that someone may take advantage of them and cause them to perform actions they otherwise would not. While this is understandable, this form of self hypnosis can be very beneficial, and there are methods you can use to try nlp on your own.

Like a showman skilled in magic, the therapist who specializes in nlp hypnosis is able to draw his patient’s conscious mind into one conversation or point of interest, while he is actually using subtle language cues to connect with the subconscious and make changes to unwanted behaviours. While the therapist is using a slightly different set of language skills during this form of hypnotherapy, the basis of the treatment is still the body’s ability to accept the various hypnotic states that we experience unknowingly every day.

People contact therapists for nlp hypnosis for assistance with many different behavioural concerns. Some clients may want to stop smoking or to lose weight and find it difficult to do so on their own. Other clients may procrastinate in every area of their life or have social or other phobias which leave them feeling they are not living up to their full potential. These types of behaviours can range from irritating to crippling. Sessions with a skilled nlp hypnotherapist can help these patients to break through barriers to changing their behaviors.

Trust is a huge part of any type of therapy, nlp hypnosis included. Many clients find that they are able to experience the same benefits of this type of hypnotherapy by using pre-recorded media. CDs are common, but you can find MP3s online that you can stream or download to your audio player and take with you anywhere you go. In this manner, you can experience nlp yourself and at your own pace without worrying about feeling you might be manipulated.

There are countless ways that self hypnosis can be used to help people. There are many books, Cd’s, audio books, and e-books available on the topic. As more clinical studies are done, interest in this topic will most likely continue to grow. Private and government applications of this topic will most likely increase as well. Elements of it can be used to increase productivity or to reduce anxiety during times of stress.

Perhaps one day, self hypnosis will be taught in schools all over the world!
